Holiday Programme OverviewKids Active Rugby Camps run over four days from 9am to 3pm and include a range of rugby skills, drills and activities as well as rugby related games and age group breakdown for specific sessions. Our programmes are designed for players of all abilities between the ages of seven and fourteen (U8-U13) and offers an exciting opportunity for all young rugby players to enjoy learning core skills and develop their game understanding
All levels of ability are welcome. Whether you are new to rugby or having been playing for years, our aim is to educate, motivate and inspire you to reach your full potential. We develop players' core skills and game understanding in a safe, purposeful, enjoyable and challenging environment. All coaching is directed by our IRB educator qualified instructor and led by our team of experienced and enthusiastic coaches. Players will be split into their relevant age groups in accordance with NZ Rugby regulations; where they will be coached and challenged in relation to their stage of rugby development. We also educate the players to embrace rugby's traditional values and play the game in the spirit it was intended; something that separates our great sport from some of its other counterparts. At the end of each day, players are rewarded through our Kids Active Rugby Awards where those who show a positive attitude towards training and the way they engage with the group will be recognised. On the final day of the camp our players participate in a round robin tournament to showcase their new and improved skills. Family are encouraged to come along to watch and share in their child's love of the game. We value and foster rugby's traditional values; respect, discipline, courage and looking after your mates... A Whopping Advantage...
Through the course of the club season (April - July/Aug) kids on average receive 14 hours of coach input through their club/school coaches. Our April rugby camps are deliberately designed to deliver 12 hours of quality technical instruction and 6 hours of game opportunity to equip kids with the skills and confidence to start the rugby season well. That's almost an entire season's worth of coaching before they've even had their first game! Our July rugby camps reinforce the key skills learnt and help players to prepare for their representative campaigns, whether those aspirations are placed in the immediate or not too distant future..
